A Danish midcentury credenza designed by K.B. Simonsen for Faarup Møbelfabrik, circa 1965, crafted in richly toned teak with a long, low architectural profile. The façade is arranged around four central drawers with shaped lip pulls, flanked by sliding tambour-fronted compartments that disappear neatly into the cabinet sides when opened. Rounded vertical handles and softly chamfered outer edges reinforce the sculptural quality of the design, while the warm, even grain of the teak is allowed to remain the principal decorative element. The cabinet is raised on tapering legs with shaped supports, giving the substantial form a lighter, more elevated appearance.
Internally, the two side compartments provide generous shelved storage, making the piece practical for dining ware, glassware, records or general living-room use. The central drawers offer additional concealed storage while maintaining the clean symmetry of the front. Characteristic of refined Danish modern furniture, the design balances precise cabinetmaking with restrained detailing and strong functionality. Its combination of teak, tambour construction and carefully integrated handles makes it a particularly well-resolved example of Scandinavian storage furniture from the 1960s.
